Meitek (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. was founded in November 2006 with total investment of 500 million yuan and is a holding subsidiary of Shengyuan Nutrition International Group. The factory is at No. 1888 Dazhushan South Road in Huangdao District, Qingdao, Shandong Province.

The plant was built to GMP standards, covers more than 70 mu and employs over 200 people, more than 20 of them senior engineers. Chondroitin sulphate is the main line and the company describes the site as one of the larger chondroitin sulphate production bases in Asia, with existing capacity of 700 tonnes of chondroitin sulphate and 700 tonnes of type II collagen material. Chondroitin sulphate is produced to USP standard in sodium, calcium and marine forms.

Alongside these, the company makes chicken and bovine type II collagen, fish collagen, oyster and other marine peptides, DHA and ARA powders, and a range of powdered oils covering MCT, conjugated linoleic acid, diester glycerol, ketogenic, butter and virgin coconut oil grades, plus vegetable fat powders for infant formula and foods for special medical purposes. Its glucosamine chondroitin tablets hold a Chinese health food approval. The company listed on the New Third Board on 31 March 2017 under code 871397, and reports 83 certificates and patents and exports to more than 100 countries.
