Hebei Huayang Biological Technology Co., Ltd. is part of the Hebei Huayang group, which was first built in 1987 as Jizhou Huayang Chemical Co., Ltd. and sits in the provincial industrial park in Jizhou District, Hengshui, Hebei, on Fuyang East Road. The group holds four companies: Hebei Huayang Biological Technology, Hebei Huayue Amino Acid Technology, Cangzhou Huachen Biotechnology and Hengshui Yangli Trading.

Huayang produces and exports amino acids in food grade. Its main products are glycine, L-alanine, L-threonine, DL-methionine, L-lysine hydrochloride and L-cysteine hydrochloride, together with the glycine-based seasoning material sold in China as ganbeisu, and the catalogue extends to arginine, glutamic acid, leucine, tryptophan and cystine. The materials go into food, beverage and feed manufacturing.

The Jizhou plant produces food grade glycine at a rate of ten thousand tonnes a year. To lower raw material cost and widen the range of applications the group added an industrial grade glycine line in the Cangzhou Lingang Economic Development Zone. Sales are handled from Hengshui for the domestic market and from an international department in Changchun, and the company states that it has established trade relations with buyers in a number of countries and regions.
