Calcium Glycinate
Calcium Glycinate is the chelated calcium salt of the amino acid glycine, with formula Ca(C₂H₄NO₂)₂ and CAS 35947-07-0.
The compound is a coordination complex in which two glycine molecules form a bidentate bond with a central calcium ion through their carboxylate and amino groups. It is produced for premium dietary-supplement applications where bioavailability and gastric tolerance are priorities.
We source bulk Calcium Glycinate from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturers are in Shandong and Hebei. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.
Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades
Calcium Glycinate is a chelated mineral ingredient, and grade selection turns on chelation degree and particle properties.
The standard supplement grade carries a guaranteed minimum calcium content, typically in the 18 to 22 percent range depending on whether the product is the simple bisglycinate or a mixed glycinate-containing complex.
A buffered grade also exists, in which a small fraction of the calcium is present as carbonate or oxide to raise the effective calcium load. This presentation is favored by tablet formulators who need to keep pill size manageable at high dose.
A fully reacted, true-chelate grade is differentiated from the buffered material by analytical confirmation of complete glycine-calcium coordination. This grade typically carries a brand name and a chelation-degree specification.
Particle-size grades range from fine powders for capsule filling to granular presentations for direct-compression tableting.

How We Help Source Calcium Glycinate
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Calcium Glycinate out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Calcium Glycinate together with other ingredients such as Sodium Acetate, Calcium Citrate and Sodium Lactate into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
Calcium Glycinate is permitted as a calcium source in dietary supplements and fortified foods in major regulated markets.
The European Union lists calcium bisglycinate as an authorised source of calcium in food supplements under Directive 2002/46/EC, following an EFSA opinion that evaluated its safety and bioavailability. The compound is also permitted under Regulation (EC) 1925/2006 for the addition of minerals to foods.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not issued a specific GRAS notice for calcium glycinate, but the compound is widely used in dietary supplements under the general framework of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA).
JECFA has not specifically evaluated calcium glycinate but has evaluated the parent glycine and the general class of mineral amino acid chelates.
Pharmacopoeial monographs are not yet established for the chelated form; specifications follow manufacturer or trade-association standards. Halal and Kosher certifications are widely available.
Manufacturing Process
Calcium Glycinate is produced by reacting glycine with a calcium source under controlled pH and temperature.
Glycine, the simplest amino acid, is dissolved in water and combined with calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, or calcium carbonate in approximately 2:1 molar ratio. Reaction proceeds in a stirred reactor under mild heating, and chelation between the carboxylate group of glycine and the calcium ion is established as the solution clears.
The chelated product is filtered to remove unreacted calcium source, then spray-dried or oven-dried to give the white to off-white powder of commerce.
True-chelate manufacturers use proprietary reaction conditions, often involving extended reaction time and controlled water removal, to maximise the degree of coordination between glycine and calcium. Analytical confirmation by spectroscopic methods is used to certify the chelation.
Glycine itself is produced industrially by the Strecker synthesis from formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, and ammonia, or by fermentation routes. Both starting materials are commodity inputs, which keeps the chelated product affordable relative to other premium calcium forms.
