Dry Vitamin D3

Dry Vitamin D3 is a free-flowing powder form of cholecalciferol carried on starch, gum acacia, or maltodextrin, produced by spray drying or spray cooling of an emulsion. The format suits dry-blend operations where a liquid oil concentrate cannot be incorporated cleanly.

Tablet pressing, capsule filling, sachet stick-pack production, and dry premix mixing all run better with a powder input that flows through volumetric feeders and disperses without oily contamination of equipment.

We source bulk Dry Vitamin D3 from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Zhejiang. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades

Standard loadings are 100,000 IU per gram for general tablet and capsule use, 200,000 IU per gram for compact dosage forms, and 500,000 IU per gram for high-potency or low-inclusion applications.

Carrier systems vary by labelling target. Modified food starch with sucrose is the legacy matrix and supports the highest loadings. Gum acacia gives a lower-allergen option for clean-label tablets, and maltodextrin offers a neutral carrier for capsule filling.

Particle size cuts run from 150 to 500 microns, with finer cuts preferred for direct-compression tableting and coarser cuts for capsule and sachet filling.

Applications

  • Direct-compression vitamin D tablets and chewables
  • Multivitamin tablet and capsule blends
  • Effervescent tablet bases where moisture sensitivity rules out oil forms
  • Stick-pack and sachet powder supplements
  • Powdered infant and follow-on formula fortification
  • Powdered milk replacers and dairy whitener fortification
  • Functional beverage powders, including sports nutrition and meal-replacement
  • Powdered pediatric multivitamin preparations
  • Bakery dry premixes and bread-flour fortification
  • Tableted veterinary multivitamins for companion animals

How We Help Source Dry Vitamin D3

  • Direct Factory Sourcing

We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.

  • Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer

The manufacturer sends your Dry Vitamin D3 out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.

  • Free Samples and Lead Time

We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.

  • Combined Shipment

We can load Dry Vitamin D3 together with other ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin E into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.

Regulatory Status

Dry D3 powders are covered under the same cholecalciferol approvals as oil and crystal forms: U.S. FDA recognises the active under 21 CFR 184.1950 as GRAS for nutrient use, and the EU permits it as a vitamin for fortification under Regulation 1925/2006 and for supplements under Directive 2002/46.

Pharmacopoeial monographs in USP, Ph. Eur., and JP cover the active. The carrier system itself must consist of food-additive-approved ingredients in the target market.

Allergen statements track the carrier and gelatin source. Halal and Kosher certifications are routinely available where the matrix is built without animal-derived components, with fish gelatin used in some Kosher-targeted variants.

Manufacturing Process

The starting point is a stabilised cholecalciferol oil concentrate emulsified into an aqueous carrier solution containing modified starch, hydrolysed gelatin, maltodextrin, or gum acacia plus a sugar phase. Antioxidants are pre-dissolved in the oil before emulsification.

The emulsion is sprayed into either a heated drying tower (spray drying) or a chilled starch bed (spray cooling), depending on the carrier choice and the target particle shape. Spray cooling tends to give better D3 retention because the active never sees high air-inlet temperatures.

The dried or cooled powder is sieved to the target particle cut, dusted with anti-caking aids such as silicon dioxide or tricalcium phosphate, and packed under nitrogen into multilayer foil bags inside fibre drums.
