Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade

Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade is a cold-water-dispersible beadlet of cholecalciferol standardised to 500,000 IU per gram, engineered for uniform distribution through dry and liquid animal-feed premixes.

The active oil is emulsified inside a modified-starch and gelatin matrix, then spray-cooled into free-flowing microbeads that wet out quickly in water without forming oily slicks. The format addresses the two big handling problems with raw D3 oil at the feed mill: poor mixing in aqueous slurries and high losses during pellet conditioning.

We source bulk Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade from top China manufacturers for our partners, working with several of them. The manufacturers are in Zhejiang and Jiangxi. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades

The standard commercial loading is 500,000 IU per gram (sometimes written 500 CWS or D3 500K).

Bead size typically falls in the 150 to 500 micron range, with the cut chosen to match the carrier particles of the receiving premix. Smaller cuts are preferred for milk replacer and starter feeds; coarser cuts move better through pellet mills.

Antioxidant systems are matrix-internal. Ethoxyquin remains the legacy stabiliser in markets that still permit it, while BHT, BHA, and propyl gallate cover the rest. Mixed tocopherols are produced for operations targeting an ethoxyquin-free claim.

Applications

  • Poultry premixes for broilers, layers, and breeders to support skeletal development and eggshell quality
  • Swine premixes covering gestation, lactation, nursery, and finishing diets
  • Dairy and beef cattle mineral packs to back calcium and phosphorus utilisation
  • Aquaculture feeds for salmonids, tilapia, and shrimp where waterborne losses must be minimised
  • Milk replacers for calves, lambs, and piglets, where cold-water dispersibility is essential
  • Pet food premixes for dogs and cats
  • Equine vitamin-mineral supplements and balancers
  • Liquid feed supplements and molasses-based blocks
  • Rabbit and fur-animal compound feeds
  • Specialty zoo and exotic-animal diets where stocked premix is reconstituted on site

How We Help Source Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade

  • Direct Factory Sourcing

We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.

  • Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer

The manufacturer sends your Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.

  • Free Samples and Lead Time

We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.

  • Combined Shipment

We can load Vitamin D3 500 CWS Feed Grade together with other ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin E into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.

Regulatory Status

Cholecalciferol is registered as a nutritional feed additive in the EU under Commission Implementing Regulation 2017/1492 (functional group 3a, vitamins), for all animal species. The U.S. FDA recognises it under 21 CFR 573.780 as a source of vitamin D3 activity in animal feed.

Maximum supplementation levels are set per species in EU feed legislation and mirrored by national regulators elsewhere. Ethoxyquin-stabilised variants are restricted in the European Union and several adjacent markets.

The product is produced with certificates covering identity (HPLC assay), residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology. GMP+, FAMI-QS, and FSSC 22000 documentation is routinely available from established suppliers.

Manufacturing Process

Crude cholecalciferol resin is produced upstream by UV irradiation of 7-dehydrocholesterol recovered from sheep wool grease (lanolin). The resin is purified, standardised in a refined vegetable oil, and held under nitrogen until formulation.

For the CWS beadlet, the stabilised D3 oil is emulsified into an aqueous solution of modified food starch, hydrolysed gelatin, and sucrose. The emulsion is sprayed into a chilled bed of starch fines that absorbs the surface moisture and rounds the droplets into discrete beads.

Beads are cured, sieved to the target cut, and dusted with silicon dioxide or tricalcium phosphate to improve flow. In-process IU titer is verified by HPLC against a cholecalciferol working standard before release.
