Vita Fibre

Vita Fibre is the trade name used by BioNeutra Global for its isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO) based prebiotic fibre, sold to food and supplement manufacturers as a soluble dietary fibre with mild sweetness. It is not a vitamin; the name is a brand designation and the product belongs in the prebiotic fibre and bulk sweetener category.

Commercial Vita Fibre comes in syrup and powder grades, both standardised to a minimum of 70 percent IMO on a dry basis. The remainder is short-chain glucose oligomers, dextrose, and water in the case of the syrup.

We source bulk Vita Fibre from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Guangdong. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades

Two physical formats cover the range, each with two purity bands.

The syrup grade is delivered at roughly 75 percent solids as a clear, slightly viscous, pale straw fluid. The IMO content sits at 70 percent or higher on a dry basis in the standard grade, with a high-purity variant reaching 90 percent.

The powder grade is the spray-dried equivalent at 95 percent or higher solids. It flows freely, dissolves quickly in water, and is the preferred format for dry-blend applications such as protein bars, baking mixes, and supplement powders.

Both formats carry the same fundamental composition: a mixture of isomalto-oligosaccharides (isomaltose, panose, isomaltotriose, isomaltotetraose, and longer chains) with glucose and short-chain glucose oligomers as minor co-components.

Applications

  • Protein bars and nutrition bars as a binder and source of soluble fibre
  • Low-sugar and no-added-sugar baked goods and biscuits
  • Reduced-sugar confectionery, gummies, and chewy candies
  • Granola, cereal, and breakfast bars
  • Yogurt and dairy desserts as a fibre-enrichment ingredient
  • Functional beverages and ready-to-drink protein shakes
  • Sugar-free and reduced-sugar chocolate coatings
  • Powdered drink mixes and meal replacement shakes
  • Dietary supplement gummies and chewables
  • Sports nutrition products as a slow-release carbohydrate source
  • Pet treats as a low-glycaemic binder
  • Tabletop sweetener blends with stevia or monk fruit

China Manufacturers of Vita Fibre

Top Vita Fibre manufacturers in China.

Company names and logos are the property of the manufacturers themselves. They are listed here because our own directory records them as producing this ingredient. A listing is not an endorsement by them, and we do not represent them or speak on their behalf.

How We Help Source Vita Fibre

  • Direct Factory Sourcing

We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.

  • Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer

The manufacturer sends your Vita Fibre out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.

  • Free Samples and Lead Time

We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.

  • Combined Shipment

We can load Vita Fibre together with other ingredients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin E into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.

Regulatory Status

Isomaltooligosaccharide is recognised as a food ingredient in major regulatory frameworks. In the United States, BioNeutra has filed a successful GRAS notice (GRN 246) for IMO with the Food and Drug Administration, supporting its use as a food ingredient and source of dietary fibre.

In the European Union, isomaltooligosaccharide is treated as a novel food and falls under Regulation 2015/2283. Specific authorisations and condition-of-use limits apply, and formulators should verify status before launching new products.

The classification of IMO as a dietary fibre in nutrition labelling is jurisdiction-specific. The United States recognised IMO as a fibre for FDA labelling purposes after the 2016 fibre definition revision, subject to a successful citizen petition demonstrating physiological benefit. Several other jurisdictions accept IMO as a fibre based on the AOAC 2001.03 or AOAC 2009.01 analytical methods.

Vita Fibre carries Kosher and Halal certifications, and non-GMO and gluten-free variants are available.

Manufacturing Process

Isomaltooligosaccharide is produced by enzymatic conversion of starch, typically corn or tapioca. The starch is first liquefied with alpha-amylase, then saccharified with beta-amylase or pullulanase to yield a maltose-rich syrup.

The maltose is then treated with a transglucosidase enzyme that rearranges the glycosidic bonds from the alpha-1,4 linkages of maltose to the alpha-1,6 linkages that define isomaltooligosaccharides. The resulting product is a mixture of isomaltose, panose, isomaltotriose, and longer alpha-1,6 linked oligomers.

The syrup is decolourised with activated carbon, demineralised through ion exchange, and concentrated to the target solids. Powder grades are produced by spray drying the concentrated syrup. High-purity grades involve an additional chromatographic separation step to remove residual glucose and short-chain maltodextrins.
